Ken Kander graduated with honors from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and received his Master of Science in Professional Accountancy from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. Prior to his current position as Director of Finance & Operations at Holly Academy, Mr. Kander worked for the government as a crime investigator and probation/parole officer in Cleveland, Ohio; he had also worked for a major restaurant chain as their manager and accounts payable supervisor in Chicago, Illinois; his most recent position had been as a controller and director of personnel in Southfield, Michigan.
Mr. Kander previously taught Hebrew and Jewish studies in Flint and in Troy. He is happily married, and he and his wife Lisa live in the Holly area. Lisa has a PhD in theater directing, and has taught at Wayne State University. Their four children all have jobs that are also involved with the field of education – Beth lives in Mississippi, Adam and Claire are both in the Chicago area, and Jake lives with his wife Jessica in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
