Julie graduated from The University of Michigan - Flint with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She received her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakland University, and a Ed. Specialist Degree in Administration from Oakland University. Prior to her current position as Director of Holly Academy, Julie served for two years as the Academy's Deputy Director. Julie's teaching experience occurred at Sobey Elementary School in Flint, MI. At Sobey, Julie held many roles; including classroom teacher, learning community leader, Title 1 teacher, and HOST (Help One Student To Succeed) coordinator. Julie also enjoyed her years as an adjunct professor at U of M - Flint.
Julie is very proud of her three adult children; Patrick, Meghann, and Colleen. However, her five grandchildren; Isabelle, Nolan, Jude, Sophia, and Reese are definitely, "The apples of her eye!" When she is not working, Julie enjoys reading, gardening, time with friends, and travel.
