As we indicated in the correspondence we sent last Friday, our hope was to complete this week with in-person teaching and learning. Unfortunately, yesterday and today we’ve continued to have staff and students being tested due to COVID symptoms. We have fought the good fight, but regretfully I have made the decision to close for in-person learning at the end of the school day today.
This decision was very difficult. All HA staff honors the benefits of in-person learning; however, there comes a time when safety must take precedent. I am so proud of our staff, students, and parents, who have committed themselves to staying the course and showing up each day!
Tomorrow your Y5-5th grade Husky can access their work virtually by logging into Google Classroom and Big Ideas. Middle school Huskies should access Google Classroom, Big Ideas, and Odysseyware to access their work virtually. Please be expecting Zoom links from homeroom teachers for live teaching Thursday and Friday. If your child is an HVA student, they can stay the course Wed/Thurs/Fri and next week, or join their in-person classmates on Zoom sessions.
Any decision made regarding learning after winter break will be decided at the Board of Directors meeting this month.
Thank you to ALL of you that have reached out to express your support of us. Our pack is amazing!
