Middle School Science Teacher

JOB FUNCTION:  To provide for the science instruction for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students as prescribed in the established school curriculum and within the policies of Holly Academy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Shall hold a Bachelor’s Degree or better from an accredited college or university.
  • Shall hold or be eligible for a valid permanent or provisional teacher’s certificate from the State of Michigan.
  • Shall hold a Science (DX) or Science (DI) endorsement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to provide leadership in educational planning.
  • Ability to organize and administer lesson plans aligned with the Michigan Academic Standards.
  • Ability to function effectively on a team and work within an agreed upon instructional plan.
  • Knowledge of the growth and maturation of middle school students.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively.
  • Subject to a Criminal Records Check as required by Board Policy.

SALARY:

$36,000 (1st year teacher salary) or negotiable, based on experience.

Occupational Therapist (Part time – 2 days per week)

REPORTS TO:  Special Education Director

JOB FUNCTION:  To provide occupational therapy to our students.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Shall hold a Bachelor’s degree or better in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university or college.
  • Shall hold a State of Michigan Occupational Therapist license.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Conduct screening and evaluation of at-risk students.
  • Plan and implement IEP meetings in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate student records for current IEP needs, as received.
  • Participate in the child study team process as a prerequisite to special education services.
  • Fully participate with other members of the special education department.
  • Maintain a log of parent and community contacts.
  • Utilize strategies and techniques to modify unacceptable behavior.
  • Knowledge of the growth and maturation patterns of elementary students.
  • Subject to a Criminal Records Check as required by Board Policy.

$35.00 per hour.

Substitute Positions Available

QUALIFICATIONS:

Shall have 90 credit hours at an accredited university or college, or shall hold or be eligible for a valid permanent or provisional teacher’s certificate from the State of Michigan.

Must provide original transcripts.

Subject to a Criminal Records Check as required by Board Policy.

SALARY:

$90.00 per day
